AOECS

Welcome to AOECS

The Association of European Coeliac Societies - also known as AOECS - is the umbrella organisation of European national coeliac societies with currently 35 enrolled Member societies across Europe. AOECS represents people who are affected by coeliac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) and seeks to collaborate with international coeliac organisations worldwide.

Since the introduction of our European licensing system in 2012, our Member societies are licensing the use of the trademark-protected Crossed Grain symbol across Europe. The highly recognisable symbol can now be found on the packaging of over 9,000 gluten free products with numbers increasing every month.

What makes our new licensing scheme so attractive to gluten free producers is that with only one license they can export to all European countries in which AOECS Member societies are located. For a full list visit our Members page.

As the 16 May 2016 fast approaches, our Member societies are gearing up to celebrate International Coeliac Day in a big way this year.

Some societies will be holding seminars and information workshops for medical professionals in their countries as well as the general public to raise awareness of coeliac disease and its symptoms. Others will be working with the media and issuing press releases or TV adverts and yet others like to celebrate in style and organise large family fun fairs.

If you would like to have more information or wish to organise an event to raise awareness, please get in touch by using the contact form.
