AOECS Emergency Fund
When the war broke out in Ukraine in 2022, AOECS established the Emergency Fund to enable the wider coeliac community to come together in support of people with coeliac disease affected by major crises.
The fund’s first intervention was to finance gluten-free food deliveries to refugee camps in neighbouring countries, as well as within Ukraine itself. This support is still ongoing.
Building on this experience, AOECS has strengthened its capacity to launch targeted fundraising initiatives and coordinate emergency responses whenever and wherever they are needed.
The Emergency Fund provides a structured and transparent framework that allows AOECS to act swiftly, in close cooperation with trusted partners, when people with coeliac disease are affected by humanitarian crises.

How can people support?
There are two ways to support the AOECS Emergency Fund initiatives:
Through National Coeliac Societies
Send your donation to the National Coeliac Society in your country, stating in the fund you want to support in the explanation row. You will find the relevant code for each initiative under each project above. The National Coeliac Society will transfer the funds to AOECS to centralize its management.
