Every story has a turning point

"In 2016, my daughter was born in Ukraine — a true joy for our entire family. When she turned two, we received her diagnosis: coeliac disease. That moment changed everything in our daily lives.

We faced a lack of information, social misunderstanding, and a complete lack of support from the state for children like her. She was denied access to kindergarten, and the school system wasn’t prepared either. It was a hard realisation that the problem was much bigger than just us.

The coeliac community in Ukraine became our lifeline. With their support, we learned to live differently — with strength and without fear. Later, we moved to Sweden, where, for the first time, our daughter could enjoy safe ice cream. It was a small but deeply symbolic moment of freedom. There, we experienced a whole new level of awareness and support.

This journey inspired me to help others learn more about coeliac disease and embrace who they are. Today, I’m creating children’s books about coeliac disease that help kids find solutions, believe in themselves, and confidently express their needs. I truly believe that social support and mental health care can transform lives."
