Call for Scientific Papers Now Open

We are pleased to open our fourth call for scientific papers on research and innovation related to coeliac disease.

If your abstract is approved, it will be presented as a scientific poster at the AOECS Annual Conference in Brussels on 17–18 October 2025 and published in the AOECS Scientific Book 2025.

Through this initiative, we want to promote new research and support the exchange of knowledge on crucial topics such as gluten-free diets, early diagnosis, quality of life for coeliac patients, and future treatment options.

What's new this year?

We're placing a special focus on hydrolysed products, such as gluten-free beer. Current test methods for these products – including beer – are limited and often lack the precision needed to fully protect individuals with coeliac disease.

That's why we're especially encouraging submissions that explore the testing and safety of hydrolysed gluten-free products. We need more scientific studies to help improve detection methods and close this critical gap.

Sharing research with a global community

Since 1988, AOECS and its national member societies have gathered annually to discuss coeliac-related issues and hold our General Assembly. Since 2022, we’ve also published a Scientific Book, compiling abstracts of submitted papers to make the latest research accessible to a wider audience – from medical professionals and patient organisations to individuals living with coeliac disease.

Submit your work

We warmly invite all research groups involved in basic or applied coeliac research – as well as our fellow member societies – to submit abstracts that highlight recent findings and innovations.

🗓 The deadline for submission is 5 September 2025.
