On 7 June, the 3rd International Celiac Congress will take place in Batumi, in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Georgia. The event is organised by the Georgian National Association of Celiac Disease and supported by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of Adjara.
For the first time in the region, Adjara is launching a government-funded paediatric screening programme for coeliac disease — a key topic of the congress. Among the invited speakers is honorary guest Dr Francesco Valitutti from the University of Perugia, Italy.
Participants will include local health ministry officials, doctors, patients, parents, and importers of gluten-free products.
